Kenya Réserve Spéciale – our Kenya Special Reserve – is a bright, vibrant single-origin Kenyan coffee from our Gran Riserva collection, grown at exceptional altitude on Kenya's high plateaus. Freshly roasted on demand in our Montréal facility, it is a medium-bodied cup prized for its richness and lively, sparkling acidity. It is a coffee for those who love clarity and brightness, at its best as filter or espresso.

Origin

Kenya Réserve Spéciale comes from the high-altitude plateaus of Kenya, a country with a storied coffee heritage. Coffee first arrived there in 1893, when missionaries brought Arabica trees from Ethiopia and planted them north of Nairobi. Today, Kenya's meticulous approach to quality has made its coffees among the most prized – and most sought after – in the world.

Roast

TAG (Torrefazione Artigianale Granito) is our suggested roast for single-origins. The TAG method drives the complete caramelization of the bean's natural sugars, drawing out the full depth of the coffee. The result is a rich, complex cup built on more than four decades of green-bean selection, roasting, and cupping expertise.

Brewing

For espresso, use about 1 tbsp (8 g) of coffee per 1 oz (30 ml) of fresh water. For filter or drip coffee, use 1 tbsp (8 g) per 8.5 oz (250 ml) of fresh water.
