Pérou Selva Amazone is a bright, beautifully balanced single-origin Peruvian coffee from our Humaniterra Collection, grown in the Amazonian highlands of Rodriguez de Mendoza. Freshly roasted on demand in our Montréal facility using our signature TAG method, it is light and elegant, with subtle fruity notes of pear and papaya. It is a clean, easy-to-love cup, at its best brewed as filter or drip.

Tasting Notes

Pérou Selva Amazone is prized for its balance and its gentle sweetness. A light, clean body carries subtle fruity notes of pear and papaya, finishing soft and refined. Delicate and easy-drinking, it is a coffee that shows its best in a careful filter brew.

Origin

Pérou Selva Amazone is grown in the shade of old walnut and guava trees in Rodriguez de Mendoza, an Amazonian province known as the "Peruvian Capital of Organic Coffee." At around 1,600 metres, in a humid, tropical climate, the coffee ripens slowly on steep mountain slopes. The farmers work the land with great care – using organic fertiliser and traditional soil-conservation practices – and that stewardship is exactly the kind of responsible sourcing our Humaniterra Collection was made to support.

Roast

Pérou Selva Amazone is roasted using our TAG method – Torrefazione Artigianale Granito, our artisanal single-origin roast. Drawing on more than four decades of expertise in green-bean selection, roasting, and cupping, the TAG roast fully caramelises the beans' natural sugars to unlock their richest, most complex flavours. It is a careful, intuitive process, guided by the hand of our Master Roaster to bring out the fullest potential of this single-origin coffee.

Brewing

For filter or drip coffee, use about 1 tbsp (8 g) of coffee per 8.5 oz (250 ml) of fresh water.
