ATLAS Vanilla Chai

Vanilla Chai is a warm, spiced cup built on yerba mate – South America's naturally caffeinated leaf – layered with classic chai spices and smooth vanilla. It drinks rich, cozy and gently sweet, with the warmth of cinnamon and the roundness of vanilla over a naturally caffeinated base. A comforting alternative to coffee, and lovely with a splash of milk.

Tasting Notes

The cup is deep golden and smells of vanilla and warm spice. Yerba mate gives it a smooth, lightly grassy backbone, while the chai spices – think cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and clove – bring gentle heat and aroma, and vanilla rounds everything with a creamy sweetness. It's full and warming without being heavy, and it takes milk and a little honey beautifully for a chai-latte kind of cup.

Built on Yerba Mate

Yerba mate comes from the leaves of a South American holly, brewed for centuries as a naturally caffeinated drink with a smooth character. Here it stands in for the black tea in a traditional chai, carrying the spices and vanilla with its own mellow warmth. The result is a spiced, comforting cup for morning or afternoon.

Brewing

Bring fresh water to 90 °C and steep one tea bag for 3 minutes. For a chai-latte style, brew it strong and add steamed or frothed milk and a touch of honey; it's good iced, too.
