Brésil Alta Minas is a rich, velvety single-origin Brazilian coffee from our Humaniterra Collection, grown at altitude in the celebrated Minas Gerais region. Freshly roasted on demand in our Montréal facility using our signature TAG method, it offers a seductive aroma, a smooth, full body, and subtle notes of fruit and nut. It is an elegant, approachable cup that shines as filter or espresso.

Tasting Notes

Alta Minas is prized for its smooth, velvety body and its inviting aroma. Subtle fruity and nutty notes give it a quiet complexity over a rich, rounded cup that stays balanced and easy to drink. Refined and versatile, it is as satisfying black as it is with milk.

Origin

Brésil Alta Minas comes from a single estate in the highlands of South Minas Gerais, where high elevation encourages the refined, complex flavours that make it one of Brazil's finest coffees. The estate protects hundreds of hectares of native forest and recycles its coffee pulp back into the soil as a natural source of nutrients. Its workers receive above-average wages, full benefits, and thorough safety training – the kind of responsible sourcing our Humaniterra Collection is built on.

Roast

Brésil Alta Minas is roasted using our TAG method – Torrefazione Artigianale Granito, our artisanal single-origin roast. Drawing on more than four decades of expertise in green-bean selection, roasting, and cupping, the TAG roast fully caramelises the beans' natural sugars to unlock their richest, most complex flavours. It is a careful, intuitive process, guided by the hand of our Master Roaster to bring out the fullest potential of this single-origin coffee. It is also offered in other roast levels – you can explore our roast options to find your preference.

Brewing

For espresso, use about 1 tbsp (8 g) of coffee per 1 oz (30 ml) of fresh water. For filter or drip coffee, use 1 tbsp (8 g) per 8.5 oz (250 ml) of fresh water.
