Espresso Quarto

Espresso Quarto is a smooth, well-rounded espresso blend that balances Arabica finesse with a touch of Robusta body. Freshly roasted on demand in our Montréal facility, it brings gentle notes of vanilla and honey to a thick, satisfying mouthfeel. With more Arabica than the rest of our Robusto Collection, it is an approachable everyday espresso with just enough backbone.

Tasting Notes

Quarto sits comfortably in the middle of the intensity scale, prized for its thick, creamy mouthfeel. Soft notes of vanilla and honey give it a natural sweetness, while a measured share of Robusta lends body and a lasting crema. It is smooth and easy-drinking, at home as a morning espresso or the base for a milky café.

Origin

This is a blend of 75% Arabica and 25% Robusta, with the Arabica sourced from South and Central America and the Robusta from Asia. The Arabica leads with sweetness and finesse, while the smaller share of Robusta adds the body and crema that give the cup its weight. Drawing on several regions keeps Quarto balanced and consistent from bag to bag.

Roast

Espresso Quarto is finished at a medium roast, developed to build body and caramelise the beans' natural sugars for a rounder, sweeter cup. As a blend, it carries our Medium Roast designation rather than a single-origin roast profile, keeping the vanilla-and-honey sweetness to the fore while giving the espresso a smooth, full body.

Brewing

For espresso, use about 1 tbsp (8 g) of coffee per 1 oz (30 ml) of fresh water. For filter or drip coffee, use 1 tbsp (8 g) per 8.5 oz (250 ml) of fresh water.
