Colombia Excelso

Colombia Excelso is a well-balanced single-origin Colombian coffee from our Humaniterra Collection, grown high in the Colombian massif. Freshly roasted on demand in our Montréal facility using our signature TAG method, it pairs bright, citrusy notes with the depth of dark chocolate over a smooth, rounded body. It is an approachable, beautifully balanced cup, at its best brewed as filter or drip.

Tasting Notes

Colombia Excelso is prized for its balance. Bright citrus notes lift the cup, while a rich seam of dark chocolate gives it depth and a smooth, rounded body. Clean and easy to enjoy, it is a versatile Colombian coffee that shows its best in a careful filter brew.

Origin

Colombia Excelso comes from a cooperative of 141 small producers in the Colombian massif, a region of exceptional environmental importance. Each grower tends no more than three hectares of coffee, most of it worked by their own families. They farm using sustainable practices that protect the region's natural resources – its flora, its fauna, and the land itself – the kind of careful stewardship our Humaniterra Collection was created to support.

Roast

Colombia Excelso is roasted using our TAG method – Torrefazione Artigianale Granito, our artisanal single-origin roast. Drawing on more than four decades of expertise in green-bean selection, roasting, and cupping, the TAG roast fully caramelises the beans' natural sugars to unlock their richest, most complex flavours, guided by the hand of our Master Roaster. Brewing

For filter or drip coffee, use about 1 tbsp (8 g) of coffee per 8.5 oz (250 ml) of fresh water.
