Décaféiné à l'eau is a rich, smooth decaffeinated coffee blend created for people who love real coffee but want it without the caffeine. Certified organic and freshly roasted on demand in our Montréal facility, this South American Arabica blend delivers a full, classic flavour and a mellow, easy-drinking cup. It is decaffeinated using a chemical-free water process that gently removes caffeine while keeping the coffee's character intact.

Roast

Décaféiné à l'eau is built from two roast levels: 60% light-medium roast and 40% medium-dark roast. The light-medium roast caramelises the beans' natural sugars and highlights their varietal character, while the medium-dark portion builds body and depth. Because decaffeination increases the beans' porosity, the exterior darkens faster than the interior during roasting – so the beans can look darker on the surface while staying lighter inside, a natural characteristic of decaf rather than a sign of a heavier roast.

The Water Decaf Process

Our water decaffeination is a chemical-free, eco-friendly way to remove caffeine while preserving the coffee's full flavour. Green beans are immersed in mineral-rich water, which draws out both caffeine and flavour compounds; the extract then passes through activated-charcoal filters that capture the caffeine, and the flavour-rich water is reused for the next batch. It is a gentle, sustainable process – its byproducts are natural and 100% recyclable – and it lets the coffee keep its original, vibrant taste.

Brewing

Balanced enough for both filter and espresso. For filter or drip coffee, use about 1 tbsp (8 g) of coffee per 8.5 oz (250 ml) of fresh water. For espresso, use 1 tbsp (8 g) per 1 oz (30 ml) of fresh water.
